25 Encouraging Bible Verses for Graduates

Graduation-Blessing-Card16322lgMy Sweet daughter, my youngest child, will be graduating high school in a couple of weeks.  She has her dress, she’s got the hair appointment booked, she’s getting a mani-pedi, (a grad gift from her older sister), and she has a handsome date for the banquet.  She is tentatively filling out admission forms to post-secondary schools.  She doesn’t know exactly what she wants to do after high school, so she’s “testing the waters”, so to speak, to see what studies might interest her and what schools appeal to her.  She’s got plenty of time to think about her future, she doesn’t need to feel rushed.  In the midst of all the excitement of graduating it may be difficult to be focused on the One Who knows the plans He has for each of His children.  Here are some encouraging verses that parents, grandparents, and friends can write in cards or give to their favorite Graduate this year.

1 Timothy 4:12  Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.”

Joshua 1:7-9  “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Psalm 51:10-11  Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.”

Philippians 4:4-8  “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Psalm 105:4 “Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.”

John 14:27  Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Psalm 91:1-2  “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

James 1:12  Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.”

Proverbs 16:3  “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.”

Proverbs 3:5-10  Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.”

Colossians 3:23  “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”

Philippians 3:13-14  “Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Numbers 6:24-26  “The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
