I am thrilled to announce that I have won a 2025 Word Award for my blog article, “Lady Aurora“. Christian writers from across Canada were honoured over the weekend at The Word Guild 37th annual awards, for their books, poetry and digital articles. I am extremely thankful for this community who share my passion for writing. I would be remiss if I didn’t thank The Word Guild, The Word Award volunteers and all the fantastic Christian writers across this nation, who write for a Kingdom Purpose. Congratulations to all the finalists and winners this year! This is the fourth Word Award I have won, and I’ve been shortlisted eight times. As I said in my last blog post, my purpose with my writing ministry is to honour God in all my writing endeavors, and it is a great encouragement to be recognized in the attempt.
I will admit, it’s hard to accept praise and congratulations. I often feel I am so undeserving. I often compare myself with far more exceptional authors and writers than I, and I am perhaps my worst critic. I am also very much aware that I have a prideful side, so I also continually quote the Apostle Paul when it comes to boasting: “We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise. We, however, will not boast beyond proper limits, but will confine our boasting to the sphere of service God himself has assigned to us, a sphere that also includes you.” (2 Corinthians 10:12-13)
“…confine our boasting to the sphere of service God himself has assigned to us…”
It humbles me to think that God has in fact assigned to me this writing “sphere of service” to help Him Kingdom build.
In the next week, I will be interviewed by local papers regarding my Word Award win. I am so very nervous talking to reporters. I write well. I don’t speak well, that’s why I write. When I write, I can reread, edit, delete, and rewrite as many times as I like. When I speak, there have been times I have wished for an edit-delete button on my lips! I’d appreciate your prayers as I speak to media.
To God Be The Glory!
On another note: I am excited to have one of my stories included in an anthology to be published in December entitled: “Consider the Birds: Heartwarming True Stories of Our Feathered Friends“. You may want to include that book on your Christmas wish list.

I am very proud of my Big Sister. She’s an exceptional human being, and she is fiercely, unwaveringly loyal to God. Blessings to you, Lynn, and to all who you touch through your writing.
