I am a Christ-follower, a wife, a mom, a grandmother, a teacher and a writer (in that order). I am a graduate of the University of Calgary, where I earned my Bachelor of Education degree in 1981, and I spent over thirty years teaching children in private and public school settings, as well as volunteering in the children, youth and adult education ministries at my church. In 2007, I earned a Masters of Religious Education degree from the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary, in Cochrane, AB. My debut novel, Shoot the Wounded , written for teens and young adults, was published in November 2009, and it was one of the Finalists in the 2010 Readers Favorite Book Awards! The second book in the “Wounded Trilogy“, Heal the Wounded was released on Oct. 18, 2010 and it won the Bronze Medal in the Young Adult – Coming of Age category in the 2011 Readers Favorite Book Awards! The dramatic conclusion to the trilogy, Love the Wounded, released in May 2012 was awarded an International Literary Classics “Seal of Approval” for excellence in Children’s and Young Adult Literature. It also won the Silver medal in the Literary Classics Book Awards for faith-based fiction. It is available for purchase on Amazon or can be purchased from me at woundedtrilogy@gmail.com.
My blog, “Journey Thoughts” is the 2011 Winner of a Canadian Christian Writing Award in the blog series category. My blog is slightly quirky, sometimes off-beat, but hopefully inspirational to all my readers. I write about my daily journey walk with the Father. Sometimes I skip pleasantly alongside God, enjoying sweet conversation with Him, other times, I tend to run ahead, following my own direction. That’s when I become weary and discouraged. I write about that, too. Other times, I lag behind him and that’s when I need encouragement from the faithful to push me forward. However, my walk with the Father is always a great adventure and I hope my readers will join me on the journey!

Blessings to you all!

Dear Lynn,
I am a contributor to World Christian Broadcasting with two short wave broadcasting stations, one in Alaska and one in Madagascar. I hope to do a piece on the misinterpretation of 1 Cor 10:13. That was the focus of a recent sermon by my Pastor and also one of your blogs.
I would just like to use some of your information in my report with your permission and also giving you credit.
Thanks, John Ihrig
Thank-you, John for contacting me. Go ahead and use the info. with my blessing!
Dear Lynn Dove. I am a journalist from Denmark, writing about people being affected by covid during Christmas. I saw your tweet about you and your husband possibly being alone for the holidays this year. First of all – I am very sorry to hear that. Also I noticed, you have Danish parents and are familiar with the term ‘hygge’! (MĆ„ske taler du endda dansk?) Would you be interested in talking to me about your situation? It doesn’t have to be more than maybe 15-20 minutes.
Best regards from Trine Lavgesen, journalist at The Christian Daily http://www.k.dk
I would be delighted to talk/email with you, Trine.

Bella,
There is a little museum in Speers, Saskatchewan that begs to differ with you. My father-in-law’s family came to Canada from England (Guernsey)and settled in Speers as one of the first pioneers. They have traced their lineage back to those first church builders. It is exciting however, to meet another Dove descendant. Truly it is a rich heritage and the name has a great legacy!

Pastor Magara.
I found your blog completely by mistake–well, as a fellow Believer we both know it was no mistake. I was pleasantly surprised that we share the same last name. Mine by birth–I believe yours is by marriage?
I, too, have been through a flood in 2013. I live in Little Ferry, NJ right where the levees broke during Super storm Sandy. So I suppose we relate in many ways!
Thanks for the encouragement in your blogs!! God bless you!
Always nice to meet another “Dove”! Thank you for your kind comments, Debbie!
Hello Ms. Lynn,
I hope you are doing well. I am not sure whether or not you are the one who wrote the wonderful story “Do Angels wear glasses,” from the ‘Parenthood’ book of the Chicken Soup for the Soul Series. The story, however, touched my heart and soothed my soul in a very positive way. Please let me know if you are the same Lynn Dove who wrote the story.
Best regards,
