Red Letter Day

SHOOT THE WOUNDEDI don’t know why I’m so nervous.  After all, I know that God is in control of my life and He has mapped out His perfect plan for me, but He requires me to act on His prompting.  I’m the one with limitations, not Him.  I guess that’s why I’m nervous.  Today I signed my publishing contract and SHOOT THE WOUNDED will soon be in print.

I guess it hadn’t really sunk in that I would be a published author until Caleb B. sent me his design for the book cover.  Then it suddenly became very real for me.  Hope the story lives up to the magnificent cover!

The publisher will make the ultimate decision to use the cover concept or not, but I intend to use Caleb’s design to promote the book whether it becomes the actual cover design or not.  I am so thankful to him for doing this for me.

So now the countdown begins.  My target release date for SHOOT THE WOUNDED is November 1.  I hope to have a book launch party soon after its release.  I’ll blog details about that when I know when and where.

Oh, and I’m working on the sequel, HEAL THE WOUNDED that I hope will be out by 2011 God willing,   followed by LIFE LIVED (my personal journey with cancer).

Wow, no wonder I’m nervous!  Luckily “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”  Phil. 4:13

Blessings,

Lynn

Lynn’s New Book Soon to be Released!

“I know Veronica,…Ronnie, loved all of you.  She had a zest, a love of life that knew no boundaries.  She had made mistakes, true, but that did not negate the fact that she knew that her friends and family supported her, encouraged her and believed in her and perhaps that is why we all ask ourselves today, how it is we may have failed her at a time when she needed us the most.  There are so many “whys”.  God never promised that every question we asked would be answered.  Some of us may even feel angry with God for allowing this to have happened…” he saw a slight nod of affirmation from Leigh, but continued, “Psalm 91 says that “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”  Ronnie is resting with God now…” and his voice broke with emotion.

Leigh did not hear more, she was aware of Scott referring back to different passages of scripture as he eulogized her friend.  One of Ronnie’s uncles, a cousin, and one of the church’s deacons followed, sharing little snippets of stories they remembered of Ronnie’s childhood and teen years.  Leigh didn’t recall the words, nor did she much care what was said.  Only when Jake tried to stop her in the church foyer to give her a hug immediately following the service did she react with venom.

“Don’t Jake!” she hissed.  He stepped back in surprise.  “You can’t make me feel better, Jake.  You did this to her!  I don’t want anything to do with you, ever!” and Leigh pushed away from him leaving him bewildered and hurt.  (exerpt from “SHOOT THE WOUNDED“, Lynn’s new book)

I am excited to announce that soon I will be a published author!
